With over 70 percent share of the Myanmar whisky market, Grand Royal Group is considered one of the most successful companies in Myanmar. Wanting to expand further into the whisky distribution network, the group turned to Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) solutions provider and vendor FuturMaster.
The resultant APS solution is used to plan a wide range of production batches for over 20,000 outlets, ensuring the highest quality on its highly complex production.
“FuturMaster could accurately and flexible forecast our demands by SKUs which automatically translate into information that the purchasing department can use when making decision regarding orders of bottles, caps, cartons, etc.,” said Thidar Aung, head of MIS, Grand Royal Group.
According to Moe Moe, planning manager of Grand Royal Group, the solution offers a centralised planning platform to monitor the group’s supply chain planning process. All teams involved (sales, marketing, manufacturing, procurement, quality assurance, distribution, warehousing and even financing) can input their short term forecast directly onto the platform, in order to ensure that everyone is on the same page. Live updates for the production plans are available as well via smart phones and tablets.
FuturMaster provided guidance and technical know-how support for the scheduling of the manufacturing mixing process and the filling and packaging lines of finished cans and bottles in each factory. The group can now enjoy better forecast accuracy which contributes to better service levels, resulting in increased freshness and timely supply to their valued customers, and improving customer satisfaction.
