The certification was awarded by Oregon Tilth Certified Organic to the company’s Denver City, TX plant, which now meets standards by the European Union and United States Department of Agriculture National Organic Program. The facility specialises in the cultivation, harvest, dehydration and extraction of paprika, rosemary and carrot, as well as specialty herbs and spices.
Organic food and non-food products have been gaining consumer interest in recent years, driving up demand and sales of these products. According to Innova Market Insights, almost one in 10 global new packaged food and beverages made an organic claim last year. The Organic Trade Association has also indicated that sales of organic food and non-food products in the US totalled US$39.1 billion in 2014, up 11.3 percent from 2013.
With this certification, the company is now able to expand its naturally-sourced ingredient portfolio and ride on this rising demand for organic products and cleaner label ingredients.
