Weber launched a new version in its Transprint label materials line—Transprint 425 FL. It features a thin clear polyester release liner as compared to the standard paper liner. The thinner liner allows more labels per roll, extending the footage of applicable labels per roll. The liner is made from PET, making the product recyclable.

The extended length of the label rolls are designed to be used with the Weber Model 5300 print-apply systems and work in a 1:1 ratio with a custom footage thermal-transfer ribbon. This keeps downtime to a minimum as a technician will be able to change the label roll and ribbon at the same time. The polyester liner is stronger than typical paper liner, minimising liner breaks and tears during production.

With packaging a large waste contributor worldwide, all parties need to think of sustainable packaging and other ways to reduce waste. Marcel Cote, director, strategic marketing, Avery Dennison, South Asia pacific and Sub-Saharan Africa, discusses the small steps that companies can take to make a change for the better world.
