In line with its increased focus on sustainability, DKSH’s food blending facility in Philippines has switched to 100 percent renewable energy consumption.
As a leading distributor of specialty chemicals and ingredients, DKSH Business Unit Performance Materials offers a wide range of value-added services in addition to its sourcing, sales and marketing, distribution and logistics capabilities. Its food blending facility in Manila, Philippines provides expertise in the formulation and modification of food service products, such as sauces, batter and premixes.
The initiative significantly reduces the local carbon footprint and contributes to the Group’s overall ambition to achieve climate-neutrality across all own operations by 2030. In the Philippines, DKSH targets to offer climate-neutral blending services over the next few years. Therefore, the facility is planning to convert its boilers to bio-diesel and will further intensify efforts to reduce the use of plastic and paper.
Romil Jagunap, General Manager, Performance Materials commented: “We are proud to switch to 100 percent renewable energy consumption, thereby substantially reducing our carbon emissions. With this move, we are on track to render our blending services climate-neutral within the next years. As a result, our tailor-made formulation services are not only leading in terms of quality and time-to-market, but also in satisfying our stakeholders’ demands for minimal environmental impact.
